Kitsap County TRAFFIC OPERATIONS ENGINEER 2 in Bremerton, Washington
Public Works is looking to add a Traffic Operations Engineer 2 to their team! The ideal candidate will have proven experience in traffic engineering, strong communication skills, and a strong desire to serve the Kitsap Community.
This is a full-time position with wages ranging from \$76,752.00 - \$108,448.58 annually. This position offers medical/dental/vision, life insurance, participation in the PERS State Retirement Plan, 11 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays, 8 hours per month of vacation accruals, and 8 hours per month of sick leave accruals.
New hires are eligible for the incentive of up to 10% of salary (not to exceed \$10,000). The recruitment incentive will be paid in a lump sum amount upon hire in the first regular payroll. In consideration for the recruitment incentive, the candidate will agree to remain employed with the department for a minimum of two years. Should employment end, for any reason, prior to the two-year expiration, the lump sum will be repaid in a pro-rated amount based upon the number of months that remain.
[QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:]{.underline}
Required Education and Experience
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)* (related engineering work experience in traffic engineering); or
- Engineer in Training (EIT)* and four years of related engineering** work experience in traffic engineering working under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer; or
- Bachelor\'s Degree in related engineering field and four years related engineering** work experience in traffic engineering working under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer (PE); and
- One year lead worker or supervisory experience.
Preferred Education, Experience or Other Qualifications
- Experience in specialized area of traffic engineering including level of service analysis, signal and illumination design, and collision analysis.
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoTURN, Synchro, AGi32, SIDRA, Microsoft Office Suite, and ArcGIS software programs.
