Robert Half Staff Accountant in Bremerton, Washington

Description We are offering an engaging role in the Higher Education sector for a Staff Accountant, located in BREMERTON, Washington, United States. This role provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting that supports critical functions of the accounting department. The position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile sub ledgers and ledgers, ensuring accurate balances

• Implement systematic clean-ups to prepare for the year 2025

• Conduct in-depth audits and data analysis

• Work with Peoplesoft system, ensuring efficient operations without requiring additional training

• Utilize understanding of State boards website structures, preferably gained from previous experience in a college setting

• Manage conversion data effectively and efficiently

• Perform General Ledger reconciliations

• Accurately process customer credit applications

• Maintain and update customer credit records

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on account status

• Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and effective manner

• Use skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP to perform job duties effectively. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Competence in maintaining and updating the General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries

• Experience in managing Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
