Shift: ALL Security Clearance:No Clearance ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE (Job Description) The Rigger 2nd Class is responsible for accomplishing work in accordance with work specifications safely, with the highest quality, in a professional manner POSITION DEMANDS (Education/Training/Experience) Assure that tank/ compartment has an updated safe for hot work ticket and that requirements of the ticket have been met. (Example: ventilation, lighting, safety equipment etc.) Assure that conditions of the tank/compartment have not changed since the ticket was written. (Example: fuel runback, unsafe working conditions, etc.) Assure that a Work Authorization Form (WAF) ticket is on the job site and that it is for the specific job being accomplished, no work will be accomplished without a WAF posted at location of repairs Assure that any other safety issues are complied with that relate to the specific job being accomplished (Example: special staging, wearing of safety harnesses, face shields for grinding, protective clothing for hot work related jobs, breathing apparatus with correct cartridges, etc.) Assure that you are trained or qualified for the work you are assigned to do (Example: JLG Operator, Forklift Operator, and etc.) Assure that you and personnel working under your direction are working as safely and as productively as possible maintaining quality control at all times Assure that job site is left in a safe and clean condition prior to departure Assure that personnel have work package and the necessary drawings, technical manuals, or specifications required for them to adequately accomplish their work assignments Minimum of 3 years directly related experience Must be able to gain access to government facilities and obtain a security clearance Must have reliable transportation Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds Must be able to work at heights of 20 ft. or higher Works well with others Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)- including a respirator PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: X Carrying X Lifting X Walking X Climbing X Pulling X Crawling X Sitting X Crouching X Standing X Hearing X Stooping X Kneeling X Talking WORK ENVIRONMENT Administrative X Warehouse Grounds X Ship Board Driver Facility Maint. This position develops and maintains a positive working relationship with other Welders and supports a team approach in the pursuit of common company goals. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES ACCOUNTABILITY STANDARD EQUIPMENT ISSUE None. UNIQUE/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Evening, weekend and/or extended hours may be required. Approx. 90% of a mechanics time is devoted to actual production. Must be able to access all work locations, including government and private shipyards and/or vessels.
