Summary You will serve as a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC NORTHWEST. Responsibilities You will operate vehicles having an approximate gross vehicle weight up to 32,00 pounds. You will occasionally operate lighter vehicles such as buses, carry-alls, vans, sedans, etc. You will perform operator maintenance on all vehicles operated. You will perform duties in support of hazardous material handling. You will operate forklifts and/or other motor vehicles to load, transport, and store hazardous materials. The Screen-out Element for this position is:1) Driving vehicles such as platform trucks, dump trucks, bobcats, van trucks, fuel trucks, and vehicles with Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) up to 32,000 pound carrying capacity;2) Making judgments concerning loading, arranging cargo, clearances, turning radius, braking distance, and distance to maintain from preceding vehicles;3) Selecting routes based on hazardous conditions and laws restricting use of roads base on size of trucks.
