Skookum is seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance Electrician. This individual will be responsible for installing and troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment throughout Naval Base Kitsap.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Responsible for replacing lamps and ballasts.
Responsible for cleaning lighting fixture, replacing receptacles, various switches, and other connections and performing miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
Electrical repairs including, but not limited to; outlet repairs and replacement; circuit breaker(s), various sensors and ground fault interrupters, etc.
Performs routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with code.
Ability to install and or repair wiring, electrical and minor electronic components.
Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
Keep records of maintenance; work performed and cost of work.
Restore lighting & equipment to proper operating condition.
3-5 years’ electrical experience
Must be a journeyman electrician
HS Diploma or GED required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications as required, e.g. fall protection, lift, CPR, etc.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to reach, kneel, walk, stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
Good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, a good sense of balance and the ability to distinguish different color of wires
Ability to work in a variety of different environments, including inclement weather and high man lifts.
Valid Driver’s license required. Must be able to obtain and maintain approval to operate a vehicle by Skookum’s insurance carrier.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
