Compensation: $80,200 - $120,300/year (Tessera's compensation strategy is to position new employees between the minimum and midpoint of this range, depending on qualifications and experience.)
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (flexible start and end times depending on scheduling needs)
As a Learning and Curriculum Development Manager, you'll be responsible for creating and executing our organizational learning strategy; managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs; and the design, implementation and evaluation of programs and training events that foster the professional development and continuous learning of staff, supervisors, and emerging leaders.
The L&C Manager leads the development and deployment of best-in-class accessible training experiences for Tessera employees, supervisors, and leaders. In collaboration with the Workforce Development, Human Resource departments and Tessera operational leadership, the L&C Manager identifies training needs, creates training curriculum and/or supports the design of training curriculum by operations. The L&C Manager will oversee training events and collect and analyze data on these training events.
The L&C Manager will facilitate team-building activities, facilitate discussions and have a deep understanding of how adults learn. In addition to group training, the L&C Manager will provide one-to-one leadership coaching. This position is expected to execute considerable independence of thought and action with sound and insightful judgement, including decision making.
The L&C Manager will act as the single point of contact for the Training department. This position does not currently have any direct reports but may in the future as the needs grow.
Design and create effective trainings and team building activities for Tessera employees. To include: leadership training and policy training. Curriculum development is 35% of this position.
Facilitate leadership training and conversations in large and small groups. Facilitation and training is 35% of this position.
In partnership with operations and functional leaders, design, development, and deliver programs to ensure leads, supervisors, managers and leaders are developing competencies to support our employee-focused mission, our leadership competency models, and organizational strategies. 10% of this position is strategic in nature.
Administrative tasks, supporting projects of the WFD and People departments, and traveling to contract sites throughout the country make up the remaining 20% of this position.
Develop accessible presentations for employees who are low vision, deaf and/or have learning and/or cognitive disabilities.
Develop team-building exercises and workshops upon request by operations and functional teams.
Develop soft-skills curriculum content–De-escalation, emotional intelligence, servant leadership, mental health tools, stress management, difficult conversations, etc.
Create training that incorporates small group activities, large group discussions and hands-on learning.
Within days of request- research and create professional level training content.
Create accessible audio-visual materials, instructor guides, and lesson plans with branded templates.
Facilitate team-building activities, leadership conversations, trainings and workshops.
Build and host leadership workshops and events.
Present at site start-ups throughout the nation, to deploy orientation and on-boarding support.
Build professional relationships with a foundation of providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders.
Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy that aligns with organizational goals and ensures a structured approach to employee development, leadership growth, and accessibility in learning.
In coordination with operational and functional leadership, create training needs assessments.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the training program by analyzing performance metrics, gathering feedback, and implementing improvements to enhance learning outcomes and business impact.
Prepare briefings and data analysis for executive leaders.
Oversight and back-up provider of the New Hire Orientation process and assistance with employee on-boarding processes.
Provide one-to-one consulting and coaching on leadership and professional development.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive catalog of trainings, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and addressing the professional development needs of employees.
Assist with logistics of training events.
In the future, will provide oversight of Training Specialists.
In the future, will assist with implementing a learning management system.
This position requires monthly travel out-of-Kitsap County to one or more of our sites in Auburn, Port Townsend, Tacoma, Spokane and Whidbey Island. This position requires up to 6 weeks/year of out-of-state travel.

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Tessera Training Manager:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Social Science, Organizational Management, Human Resources, Learning and Development or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
5 – 8 years of experience in corporate training and/or college level teaching experience, demonstrated success in designing learning curriculum and strategy for large organizations is preferred.
Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
