Summary You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENT, SAFETY & HEALTH DEPARTMENT, ENVIRONMENT DIVISION of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will direct cleanup and/or mitigation efforts, assist in critiques as necessary, determine spill source and assist in development of corrective actions. You will update instructions, as required, to keep them current with regulatory changes. You will review technical work documents (such as Nuclear Power Engineering Instructions, Design Memorandums, Shop Standard Operating Procedures, and Process Instructions) for compliance with Shipyard instructions and regulatory requirements. You will provide support to other organizations (Engineering Codes, Shops, Ships, Tenants, etc.) when requested to assist in planning or resolving compliance issues which also meet Shipyard needs. You will conduct periodic self-evaluations to review compliance with regulatory requirements, Navy policy/instructions, and Shipyard instructions, and recommend corrective actions for identified deficiencies. You will provide support to other organizations, when requested, to assist in planning or resolving compliance issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience performing environmental inspections on industrial operations (e.g. worksites, storage areas, facilities), analyzing inspection data; and developing recommendations for the mitigation of regulatory compliance deficiencies. For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience performing environmental inspections on industrial operations (worksites, storages areas, facilities); collecting and reviewing inspection data; and identifying regulatory compliance deficiencies.
