Skookum, an award winning, non-profit organization seeks a dynamic and dedicated Accountant to support our mission of “Creating Opportunities for People with Disabilities”. Due to companywide growth and expansion, we are continually increasing our Finance Department staff.

As a Skookum Accountant, you will be responsible for general accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledger accounts, and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings, account analysis, and supporting management in carrying out the responsibilities of the finance department.
Compile and assist with financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a prompt and accurate manner that align with monthly closing deadlines.
Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, annual reconciliations on Balance Sheet Accounts - Ledger and Bank Accounts.
Prepare and Maintain Fixed Assets Records to include the coordination and management of Fixed Asset Purchases, Asset Transfers, Sales/Disposals, Replacements, and Expiring Assets.
Record and maintain Payroll Tax Payments including Payroll Tax Liability reconciliations to include verification and comparison of tax computations and returns against ledger activity.
Assist in the monthly analysis of operational expenses, business line and position alignment by Main Contract.
Prepare and maintain assigned audit schedules along supporting documentation for line items to include requesting quarterly reviews with manager in preparation of the annual audit.
Daily Data Entry, Scanning, Copying, and Filing as needed.

Minimum 3 years’ Accounting experience. (Recent College Graduate acceptable)
Minimum BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred.
Must possess strong problem-solving skills, accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.
Proficient in Excel and Word, 10-key by touch with the ability to type 60-65 wpm.
Ability to establish and meet deadlines, work under pressure, and handle multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency, while meeting our high accuracy expectations of minimal to no errors.
Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a national criminal background check, consumer check and reference checks.
