RH2 Engineering Project Accountant 1 in Bothell, Washington
About the Position
This full-time position supports the Project Accounting department and the overall financial health of RH2 Engineering through the preparation, review, and processing of monthly invoicing for engineering and electrical services to clients for our Project Managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Collaborate with Project Managers and Contract Administrative team and reviews and inputs fee estimates into Deltek Planning.
Collaboration with Project Managers for full cycle process of client invoices.
Project set up and project number assignment and modifications in Deltek.
Updating project budgets in Deltek.
Ensure consistent billing and financial reporting at project (phase/task) levels following internal practices.
Prepares draft invoices based on contract terms, applies changes from Project Managers instructions, finalizes invoices and sends to client.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Reviews Deltek project budgets, staffing, and billing rates to align with contracts. Seeks out any items that might be an issue and notifies Project Manager (PM) and/or Assistant Controller of potential issues.
Assists Project Managers with maintaining required reporting, budget tracking and other required items per client or Project Manager request.
Monitors accounts receivable and assist Project Managers with their collection efforts.
Obtains write-off approvals and explanations from Project Managers.
Collaborate with Project Managers on monitoring WIP.
Sets up and maintains project, client, contact and vendor information in Deltek.
Sets up and maintains client billing rates in Deltek and adjusts Project's billing rates annually.
Adherence to client's invoicing deadlines.
Collaborate with the Contract Administrative team to review contracts and fee estimates.
Participates in special projects.
Reviews, reconciles, and posts In-house reimbursements (CAD/copies).
Collects Project Manager approval, enters and posts subconsultant invoices or other billable charges.
Post monthly invoices to the general ledger.
Updates and maintains monthly invoicing tracking spreadsheet.
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Two (2) to five (5) years related work experience.
Intermediate knowledge of ERP system with billing and budget tracking experience.
Effective communication skills, verbal and written, with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
Capable of working with multiple team members and Project Managers.
Support and create positive client/Project Manager relationships.
Ability to understand and apply client contracts invoicing terms and requirements and identify discrepancies.
Aptitude to understand project plans from inception through completion with an accounting or finance perspective.
Flexibility in schedule to meet deadlines or team coverage as needed.
Education:
Associate degree in a related field is desired.
Related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite: including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word preferred at an intermediate skill level.
Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint preferred, or other accounting software

This position is primarily performed in an office/business setting. This position may have the opportunity to work remotely with a hybrid in-office schedule.
Compensation
Individual compensation will vary within a range of $31.00-$35.00/hour and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position. RH2 values our employees' work/life balance and compensates overtime for hours exceeding 40 regular hours in a work week.
