The Production Technician II is a non-exempt position that performs electro-mechanical assembly, test, troubleshoot and other value-added operations requiring substantial problem-solving skills and seasoned judgment related to Soltas products. Performs tasks within full-scale production manufacturing operations, including routine assembly; or quality assurance and reliability testing by following established methods and procedures. Adheres to Safety requirements and applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Provides applicable and necessary support for all Quality Compliance Audits and Inspections. Provide support and execute activities related to Enterprise Excellence and 5S.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties:

Maintains adherence to production, test, and quality system procedures. Retrieves procedures from corporate database.

Able to perform and verify line clearance in each workstation as required.

Operation of a variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, curing fixtures and equipment.

Utilizes both manual and automated tests to perform board, and system level testing to ensure product quality and reliability in accordance with company requirements.

System and sub-assembly testing, diagnose issues to assembly level, and meet all testing and performance specifications and quality requirements.

Integrates, tests, and troubleshoots LASER/RF medical electro/mechanical system/handpiece devices.

Performs rework and repair with strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Installs and configures component and system software.

Meets established production goals.

Follows all relevant regulations, SOPs, and work Instructions.

Dedicated to quality and continuous improvement.

Thorough understanding of GMP practices; accurate record keeping regarding area of responsibility.

Works closely with Assemblers, Manufacturing Engineers, and R&D Engineers in defining and documenting test procedures.

Supports and participates in committing an audit ready and safety production environment.

Acts as primary test and troubleshooting trainer for production direct labor.

Supports and participates in committing an audit ready and safety production environment.

Ability to read, interpret and follow company procedures, work instructions and engineering drawings and sketches, and identify problems and deviations from prescribed specifications and requirements.

Basic math skills, plus ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Can identify potential root cause of failures.

Limited supervision needed. No instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.

Understanding of most Lean tools.

Can fill in for Lead during MDI or Kaizen.

Crossed trained in at least 10 processes.

Takes direction from Management and Engineering staff.

Some understanding of schematics.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, Training, Traits:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prefer Associates degree or equivalent experience.

  • Four years experience testing and troubleshooting analog and digital electronics at the component, PCB, and system level.

  • Experience working within a rigorous, quality control environment such as FDA, cGMP/QSR or ISO.

  • Certified trainer, SME. Good English skills with effective verbal, writing and reading abilities.

  • Experience working in an ESD type environment. Strong team player.

As required by law, Bausch Health provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in the US. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For this role, the range of starting pay is $25 to $30 per hour.
