Summary:
As the Manager of Purchasing, you will be a part of the Fujifilm Sonosite team to lead our purchasing activities. You are responsible for purchasing and inventory planning activities for our manufacturing organization, measuring its performance, and driving material availability to support Operations. You act in alignment with Fujifilm SonoSite’s core values when managing supplier relationships, driving financial success, leading cross functional team projects and improving your team’s performance. Success in this role is measured by on time delivery of material, effective management of inventory, reduction of reject material and balancing supply chain risks and costs.
Essential Job Fuctions:
Manage buyers from order placement to delivery of goods or services
Track and report on key functional metrics to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the purchasing team
Track order status, monitor late deliveries and items below safety stock to ensure that buyers have materials and supplies arriving on time to meet production schedules
Use strong quantitative and qualitative skills to identify opportunities to lower costs and increase efficiencies, while maintaining adequate inventory levels to meet the production schedule
Proactively develop automated tools to plan inventory, drive purchasing decisions, reduce transit cost, balance Buyers workload and reduce supply chain risks
Identifies and drives supplier improvement programs to improve assurance of supply, RMA cycle time, reduction of inventory and shorter lead-times among other factors
Trains, mentors and supervises Procurement team to ensure growth and success.
Manage OSP (Outside Processing Companies)
Become an expert user of our ERP system, using best practices, identifying areas for improvement and sharing expertise with others
Maintain strong vendor relationships, track performance and provide vendor feedback
Create and manage team standard processes as well as team metrics to support company growth and internal customer satisfaction
Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain
3-5 years of experience in Purchasing, Planning, or Supply Chain preferred
6-8 years of overall experience
Manager or Supervisor experience
Work independently while contributing to a team environment
Proactively identify and act on problems before issues occur
Provide creative solutions to business problems
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP Systems, with strong expertise in Excel
Experience in Oracle and Agile systems preferred
Skills/Abilities:
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task effectively with solid judgement and prioritization skills
Demonstrated organization skills
Ability to learn quickly from past experiences and able to use those experiences in handling new situations
Ability to life a minimum of 25lbs with or without accommodations
Salary and Benefits:
$80,000 - $110,000 depending on experience + variable bonus opportunity
