Job Description Summary

In this role, you will partner with the Grid Software senior leadership to apply lean principles and methodologies to improve business results. You will play a critical role in high profile business improvement initiatives and problem solve our most important business challenges. The successful candidate will have substantial leadership runway and be passionate about the energy transition.

This high-profile position relies on a person’s lean aptitude, business acumen and ability to drive change. The Lean Leader will focus on creating, supporting, and driving improvement efforts tied to the company’s most critical business processes, including innovation, engineering, operations, and commercial functions. The goal is to positively impact results and culture by leading change, establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

The Lean Leader – Grid Software responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Grid Software business to develop value stream maps that establish future state targets on elimination of non-value added waste in product, material, and information flow.

  • Facilitate specific building teams, and cross-functional teams, kaizen activities using the GE Kaizen Playbook and the GE Kaizen facilitation process for VSM’s, Flow/Standard Work, 5s, Daily Management, Kanban, 3P, SMED, and all additional Lean processes.

  • Prioritize, coordinate assistance, keep a visual log of projects in process, measure improvements and celebrate implementations.

  • Promote, and facilitate, the use of the Lean Problem-Solving process.

  • Works with the sourcing leadership team to define and educate the workforce on a Lean transformation plan.

  • Manage the continuous improvement calendar for assigned departments.

  • Collaborate with Lean Leadership to create and promote a Lean culture across the Grid Software business.

  • Attend, and facilitate as necessary, department Management Operating System meetings.

  • Attend, and facilitate as necessary, department Staff meetings including deep, lean learning topics for leaders.

  • Work with key suppliers and strategic partners to perform kaizen activities within the supply chain to drive value for our customers.

  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent required; Master’s Degree preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading in Manufacturing, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Services, Digital/Software, or Commercial.

  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt/Black Belt or relevant Lean certification (e.g., Lean Competency System Level 2a/b)

  • Demonstrated lean expertise and impact; understands and can articulate lean as an operating system, culture and tools.

  • Ability to assess business situations and take action.

  • Proven ability to handle complex problems, bring structure and execute in ambiguous environments.

  • Strong management skills and demonstrated capability to influence.

  • Proven track record with global cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; strong business acumen.

  • Ability to effectively lead in matrixed and virtual team environment, particularly working through the extended teams to accomplish objectives.

  • Problem-solver with a passion for innovation and developing creative solutions

The salary range for this position is $112,000USD - $168,000USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
