Philips Head of R&D, Emergency Care in Bothell, Washington
As a key member of the Emergency Care (EC) Business leadership team The Head of R&D, Emergency Care, leads a large multi-disciplinary R&D team across multiple global locations and drives advanced development, concept creation, platformization and product development efforts to deliver world-class solutions with uncompromising quality from concept to commercial launch.
Your role:
Leads multi-disciplinary R&D team of Research, Systems, Software, Hardware and Verification &Validation, that delivers advanced development, new products/solutions and sustainment of legacy products in emergency and acute care solutions.
Partners with Marketing and Clinical Affairs in defining product strategy, plans and roadmaps. Helps to translate Voice of Customer into clear product requirements. Accountable for successful new product introduction, launch, and maintenance through the entire product lifecycle.
Ensures an engaged, innovative, and inspiring working environment be maintained by motivating, challenging, and coaching for personal growth, entrepreneurship and customer engagement.
Drives a continuous improvement culture in design and development to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
Analyzes competition, market trends and emerging technology against Emergency Care vision & strategy to maintain a Technical Roadmap.
You're the right fit if:
You’ve acquired minimum of 12 years of experience in management and technical management experience in the medical device industry, with minimum of 5 years at a Senior Management level.
Your skills include a track record of building and driving high-performance global teams for results to commitments in hardware, software, and systems engineering, in a highly regulated environment, from MDDS Software applications to Class III PMA medical devices.
Extensive knowledge/experience in the design of medical embedded systems and web-based software applications. Monitor/Defibrillator and AED experience is a plus.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s/MS/PhD degrees in Engineering or related field or an MBA or clinical background in lieu of advanced Engineering degree(s).

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position is $198,000 to max $366,000, annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.
