We are looking for a motivated and creative leader to help shape and support our mission. Supports internal and external funded programs by planning and conducting research and analysis pertaining to aerodynamic, thermodynamic, aero-thermodynamic, and aero-ballistic aspects of design concepts and prototypes; determines their suitability for use in guided munitions. Major Position Responsibilities Works as part of a small, dedicated engineering team to perform aerodynamic and aerothermodynamic analysis; includes some aerodynamic testing and performance analysis. Verifies conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements. Works with Chief Engineer to analyze, design and develop configurations to ensure satisfactory stability and control characteristics for guided munition prototypes. Works with Chief Engineer to validate and verify accuracy of models compared to wind tunnel test results. Participates in initial, preliminary, and critical design reviews; documents design reviews if needed. Basic Qualifications Experience with fin-stabilized and spin-stabilized projectile design and aero-ballistics. Proficient with STAR CMM+, Fluent or other equivalent CFD tools. Familiar with semi-empirical codes such as Prodas, Missile Datcom, MissileLab, etc. Experience in wind tunnel testing including test definition, support, and data reduction. Excellent writing and communication skills. Ability to organize work for multiple projects. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in the English language. Computer proficiency (MS Office applications - Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to work with all levels of personnel in an efficient and effective manner. Education and/or Experience: Requires a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, or Physics; master's degree is preferred. Requires at least seven (7) years related experience, preferably in the Aerospace or Defense industry. Advanced degree may substitute for some experience requirements. Pay Range (USD) $115,637.74 - $173,456.60 Additional Compensation Hired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company's Gain Sharing Program.
