Hiring for Shop Helper/Extruder Machine Operator in Blaine, WA!

Pay & Schedule :

• $20-$27/hr.

• 6AM-6PM (M-W) Rotating 6PM-6AM(M-W)

• Must be available for both shifts!

Job Description :

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Shop Helper to assist with the operation and maintenance of plastic extruder machines. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team environment. This role entails assisting the primary extrusion operator by loading raw materials, monitoring the production process, performing quality checks, removing finished products, and maintaining a clean work area. The Shop Helper follows safety protocols and learns the skills necessary to eventually become a full-fledged extrusion operator,

ensuring smooth and efficient production on the extrusion line.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and operating plastic extruder machines according to specifications and standard charts.

• Help in the preparation of work orders and ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.

• Monitor machine operations to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.

• Measure and inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications using tools such as rulers, calipers, and micrometers.

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work areas.

• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.

• Maintain accurate records of jobs performed and materials used.

• Follow all safety protocols and ensure the work area is clean and safe.

• Load raw materials, monitor the production process, perform quality checks, and remove finished products.

Essential Skills :

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Entry-level experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment is preferred.

• Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb platforms or ladders.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints.

• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.

• Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Work Environment :

The work environment involves standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. Employees must be able to lift and move heavy objects and use hand tools and power tools. Safety protocols are strictly followed to ensure a clean and safe workspace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $56160.00/yr.
