Insitu is looking for an experienced trade compliance licensing professional to support its robust international portfolio of clients. In this roll you will prepare, submit, and administer export agreements, hardware and marketing licenses, and commodity jurisdiction requests. You will be part of a collaborative team of trade compliance professionals focused on creating business enabling strategies through the application of trade control expertise. This position will act as an empowered official for the company and be responsible for the review and constructive feedback of other team members' work. You will coordinate with stakeholders and identify export/import licensing requirements for new opportunities and ongoing customer programs. At times you will be required to participate in the drafting and revision of company compliance processes and procedures. As part of the trade compliance team, you will collaborate in the development and deployment of trade compliance training across the company. Responsibilities The position will hold primary responsibilities for the management of export activities for multiple international customers within the Insitu portfolio. The trade compliance specialist will focus on the full life cycle of trade compliance license requirements, handling both Direct Commercial Sales and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases. Drafting and managing Technical Assistance Agreements, Warehouse Distribution Agreements, and Manufacturing License Agreements, Hardware Licenses, exemption documentation and Internal Compliance Plans. Tracks and administers license compliance programs. Reviews technical data for proper export classification and compliance with export authorities prior to export. Has the ability to provide export classification assessments and guidance for new technologies, major systems, parts, components, and technical information. Interfaces and maintains strong relationships with engineering and program management groups to facilitate the execution of customer programs. Professional Qualifications and Requirements Extensive experience with drafting, review, submission, and management of U.S. Export authorities (U.S. Department of State, Department of Commerce). At least 5 years' experience working in the defense industry as an empowered official as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Experience working Foreign Military Sales cases and utilization of ITAR exemptions related to FMS transactions. Experience researching and evaluating technologies against U.S. Export Regulations (ITAR and EAR) to determine export classification jurisdiction to include drafting of Commodity Jurisdictions and CCATS applications. Ability to learn and apply other countries' export regulations to meet business needs. Experience with technology release processes and campaigns to include the induction of foreign technologies into U.S. based platforms. Personal Characteristics and Skills Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and find creative solution to complex requirements. Deep knowledge of U.S. export and import rules and regulations. The ability to learn, ask questions, challenge the status quo, and find creative solutions to within the confines of U.S. and international regulations.
