Insitu Manufacturing Engineer 1 (contract) in Bingen, Washington
Drafts and reviews work instructions for a subsystem. Drafts, and edits Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM). Collaborates with engineering regarding design for manufactuability concepts and limited specification requirements. Designs, builds, and implements improvements on workflow ideas, fixture designs, and quality improvements for a subsystem. Compiles and evaluates test and production data, prepares technical analysis. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment for a subsystem. Adapts machine or equipment designs to factory and production conditions. Incorporates inspection and test requirements of a subsystem into the production plan. Assists in inspecting performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency. Assists production floor and assembly support personnel in technical matters relating to assembly drawing interpretation, engineering change notices, rework, manufacturing difficulties and specifications.
Optimizes utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve the efficiency of operations.
Analyzes work force utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste based on Lean / Six Sigma fundamentals.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
Designs layout of equipment, workspace, and Work-In-Progress (WIP) storage for production.
Designs and researches tools and test equipment to facilitate production. Confers with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
Acts as project manager.

Ability to leverage experience to evaluate new and emerging alternatives and better reporting tools.

Education and Experience:
This job is limited to employees who, in the performance of their assigned work, regularly apply engineering disciplines to the research, design, development, test, and evaluation of company products, facilities, or manufacturing process and have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
