About the PositionPerform maintenance duties of University grounds in a comprehensive outdoor maintenance program. This includes but is not limited to constructing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing grounds facilities such as roads, parking lots and surfaces, landscapes, athletic fields, walkways, irrigation systems, utility systems, and large brick hardscapes.
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or equivalent
Position requires a minimum of two years’ work experience involving:
Grounds maintenance;
Outdoor utility construction, maintenance or repair;
Light carpentry; and
Landscape construction, maintenance or repair.
Demonstrated experience or ability to perform work in a commercial and/or institutional setting.
Ability to maintain and use hand and power tools safely as required for the trade.
Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one prior to starting work in order to drive a state-owned vehicle for travel to work locations.
Physically perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional outdoor construction experience.
Demonstrated construction equipment operation including backhoes, excavators, and trailers.
Demonstrated experience operation with Vactor trucks.
CDL Class A driver’s license.
Knowledge of: applicable Washington Administrative Code (WAC) regulations, and local building and plumbing codes.
Knowledge of: Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA), Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) rules and regulations, standard job safety rules, proper use of a face respirator.

Salary $3,629.00 - $4,079.00/month depending on qualifications and experience
