Predictable work schedule: This position will be scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You'll also be included in our holiday rotation (usually about 2 holidays per year), ensuring a fair and equitable experience for all of our team, including you!
Competitive salary range: The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $20.69 – $31.02. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
About the Role:
As a Transporter Lead, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transport of patients, supplies, specimens and equipment throughout PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center. You'll be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions for your assigned area. You'll assist with ensuring that departmental goals are achieved, timelines are met, and service excellence is provided in all aspects of work. Duties will include:
Assigning work; planning and managing priorities, providing technical assistance, overseeing staff schedules, monitoring quality of work, monitoring team projects, mentoring staff, providing constructive feedback, overseeing staff training, ensuring quality improvement, providing leadership feedback on staff performance, and assisting with goal setting for the team.
Being a subject matter expert for your team.
Transporting patients by schedule and on request utilizing escort or wheeled transport equipment.
Transporting materials such as supplies, specimens, records, linen, trash, confidential documents and equipment.
May be responsible for conference room set-up including equipment and patient care equipment transfers.
May clean wheeled transport equipment as needed.
What You Bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 1-year relevant experience required, and prior patient experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross by date of hire.
Good customer service skills
Good interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills.
Working Conditions
Lifting
Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.
Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment (i.e. stretchers, wheelchairs, etc.).
Frequent reaching/ grasping.
Occasional bending/ stooping.
Push/Pull: Frequently up to 25 lbs. force. Occasional up to 50 lbs. force.
Environmental Conditions
Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
Mental/Visual
Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
