We continue to grow in our industry by ensuring all employees possess the following core competencies: customer focused, team player, engaged, ethical, strong communication skills, and works safely.Job PurposeThe Systems Requirements Engineer develops and documents project requirements, including regulatory and general performance requirements, for battery and battery interactive electronics systems. This position will report to the Systems Software Manager and will be responsible for developing, deriving, allocating, and managing technical and functional requirements as well as validation and verification test procedures for those requirements. The engineer fulfilling this role will effectively participate in concurrent complex projects with a focus on achieving technical and financial objectives by working closely with multi-disciplined engineering teams. The ideal candidate should have comprehensive and demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering requirements management principles and processes as well as validation and verification test procedures. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead requirements development of new battery and battery interactive electronics systems.Decompose user requirements into functional requirements at both the system and subsystem levels.Collaborate with Regulatory Compliance Engineers to incorporate all applicable industry standard and regulatory requirements supporting 3rd party safety audits (UL)Write verification test plans and procedures and work with the Test Engineering team to verify that designs meet requirements.Participate in safety analysis such as FTA, FMEA, and HAZOP to extract additional safety and reliability requirements. Own requirements traceability throughout the product development life cycle; from source requirements through testing records showing that design requirements have been satisfied.Assist with creation of associated work product documentation from requirements management tools in support of design reviews, technical meetings, and technical documentationCoordinate and source test articles, test supplies, and test equipment with respective groups.Assist with validation testing as needed.Ensure management is informed of all issues, risks and opportunities in a timely mannerQualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline. -OR- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with 4+ years of electronics engineering or system troubleshooting experience. Experience with requirements development, requirements verification testing, and project planningExperience leading and presenting to small group technical meetingsUnderstanding of both hardware and software development processes and requirementsExperience developing scripts for report generation and traceability using VBA, JavaScript, Python, or similarExperience with industrial
