PeaceHealth is seeking a Supervisor Pharmacy Technicians for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $32.32 – $48.48.
The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director Pharmacy Services, this position provides operational oversight and administrative supervision of the Pharmacy Technicians and is responsible for effective and collaborative leadership for assigned staff. Collaborates with licensed pharmacist oversight as appropriate. Responsible for monitoring the overall services, developing quality and performance indicators, gathering data for analysis as well as ensuring continuous improvement to optimize services and stewardship of resources. Staffing and scheduling.
Details of the Position
Links mission into day-to-day work, focuses on meeting organization/departmental targets, monitors budget variances and recommends or develops plans for improvement, assures regulatory compliance.
Recommends selection of staff, monitors and evaluates performance and accountability of pharmacy technicians. Evaluates competence and initiates performance improvement plans to develop pharmacy technicians, provides meaningful and constructive feedback in consultation with licensed pharmacist oversight as appropriate.
Works with leadership to assist in the development of policies, procedures, and enhancements to the delivery of services, and operations of the department.
Supervises pharmacy technician staff, including assisting the Director or Pharmacy Manager with hiring, firing and staff evaluations/performance management in consultation with licensed pharmacist oversight as appropriate.
Coordinates daily activities and workflow of assigned staff. Manages day-to-day operations, delegates tasks or projects, and assures adequate staffing to meet patient load. This includes developing monthly schedules for Pharmacists and Technicians and managing time off requests.
Oversees technical training and staff development, and evaluates the level of technician performance and competency in consultation with licensed pharmacist oversight as appropriate.
Assures compliance with regulatory requirements as well as organizational/departmental policies and procedures in consultation with licensed pharmacist oversight as appropriate.
Provides leadership and supervisory guidance in quality improvement efforts.
Contributes to and facilitates in the planning and achievement of departmental objectives including implementation and compliance.
Participates in budget planning and monitoring.
Completes weekly payroll process and associated paperwork as required.
Leads or assists staff meetings as appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Associate degree (Preferred) or
Bachelor's Degree (Preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
Minimum of 3 years Previous Pharmacy experience (Required) and
Previous supervisory/leadership experience (Preferred)
Required: Certified Pharmacy Tech - Washington (Required)
Skills
Proficient in the use of computers including MS Office applications as well as technical software used in the Pharmacy. (Required)
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (Required)
Proficient reading and writing skills. Basic algebra knowledge. (Required)
Ability to work well with others, make decisions, problem solve and delegate (Required)
Working Conditions
Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Sedentary work.
Predominantly operates in an office environment.
Some time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
