Job Summary:

As a Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the CFO and play a pivotal role in driving strategic financial planning, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting budgeting and analysis across departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in professional services and/or property management accounting, contract review, and multi-entity consolidation. You are someone who is eager to be part of our long-term growth plan and contribute to the Bellingham community.

In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for the professional services and asset management entities within The Talbot Group portfolio. Your responsibilities will include managing accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), general ledger (GL), job costing, allocation, inter-company transactions, and the consolidation of related entities. You will also handle monthly and year-end closings, and collaborate with external auditors and CPAs for annual reviews and tax preparation.

To succeed in this role, you must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and have demonstrated success working across functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting:

*General Ledger: *Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, record adjusting and accrual entries, update the fixed asset system for additions and disposals, and record monthly depreciation.

*Accounts Receivable: *Create billing per service agreements and other miscellaneous billbacks, track receipts against AR, manage allocation entries, and perform other related duties.

*Accounts Payable: *Collaborate with the Development team to ensure job cost codes are maintained and properly applied. Manage the AP approval workflow, ensure payments do not exceed signed contract amounts, review and code invoices, acquire proper approvals, update allocation worksheets, review W-9s and ACH forms for new vendors, and process payments.

*Financial Reporting: *Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple entities, book inter-company entries, prepare elimination entries, and create consolidated financial reports for review with the CFO. Prepare budget vs. actual reports and provide variance analysis for monthly planning discussions.

*Cash Management: *Prepare bank deposits, update daily cash flow, perform monthly bank reconciliations, maintain cash flow projections, and support the CFO with treasury tasks.

*Budgeting: *Assist the CFO in preparing budgets for operating entities that roll up to the parent entity.

*HR & Payroll: *Lead the payroll process, review timecards, prepare semi-monthly payroll, book payroll-related journal entries, make benefits contributions, review and submit quarterly and annual payroll forms/payments to agencies, and handle all employee claims and garnishments.
