Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable individual to join our team as a Ready-Mix Truck Driver in Bellingham and surrounding area. As a Ready-Mix Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating a concrete mixer truck to transport ready mix concrete to various job sites; home owner and industry clients. Your exceptional driving skills and attention to safety will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our construction projects. In this role as a Ready-Mix Driver, you will be responsible for customer relationships, give great service with a friendly demeanor to ensure customers receive a high-level delivery and product from Cowden Gravel & Ready-Mix/AIPNW. This is a customer-facing role that requires a service-oriented mindset and a highly professional approach.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a mixer truck to transport ready-mix concrete materials to job sites.

  • Build and maintain relationships of trust with customers in assigned geography. Own the satisfaction of these customers at all times.

  • Responsible for consistent and reliable customer service through delivery. Maintain a delivery service that is a positive, hassle-free experience for Cowden Gravel & Ready-Mix/AIPNW’s customers.

  • Able to navigate around the City of Bellingham and surrounding areas in Whatcom County, to maintain on-time deliveries.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with Logistics and Operations teams as well as fellow drivers.

  • Have a flexible schedule, This position may require an individual to work different shifts as well as be available on Saturdays.

  • Open minded and a quick learner

  • Ready-Mix training available

  • Unload materials at designated locations, following established procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and other personnel to ensure timely and efficient delivery of concrete.

  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time logs, mileage, and fuel consumption.

  • Be able to lift >50lbs.

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations for commercial vehicles, and company policies while driving the truck and be courteous on the road.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to ensure its safe and efficient operation.

  • Report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle malfunctions promptly to the supervisor.

  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking oil levels, tire pressure, and cleaning the vehicle regularly, inside and out.

  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, at all times.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving and FMCSA Clearinghouse record (Class A or

  • B), Drivers Abstract REQUIRED.

  • Proven experience as a ready-mix truck driver, a plus,

  • Understanding of building materials industry, including product knowledge, an asset, preferably in a construction or similar environment.

  • Solid understanding of traffic rules, regulations, and safe driving practices.

  • Ability to operate a ready-mix truck safely and efficiently.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays.
