Job Purpose:Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, maintains production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.Duties:Under direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs the following duties:* Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.* Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; identifying potential safety concerns; uses testing tools/devices, as needed; promptly reports problems to Maintenance Supervisor; * Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.* Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.* Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, etc.* Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.* Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.* Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.* Special projects and assignments, as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.Skills/Qualifications:* Ability to identify mechanical and safety problems on machinery and equipment; * Ability to perform routine maintenance and follow standard work procedures in a safe and efficient manner; * Ability to read, understand and complete written work orders and work procedures; ability to read and understand instruction manuals, parts manuals, safety manuals and other written instructions and policies; ability to understand basis blueprints/diagrams;* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers;* Ability to work in a team setting and be flexible about changing priorities and schedule; available and willing to work overtime, as requested.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis; Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time:Ability to reach above shoulders; grip; grasp;use fine finger movement;Ability to crouch, stoop, crawl and work in tight spaces;Ability to work at moderate heights; ability to climb stairs, ladders and hoists;Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE);
