Key Activities:

• Design shop drawing for Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Video Surveillance systems utilizing AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam. Includes the following:
• Cover Page (system legend, bill of materials, site info, page indexes, etc)
• Riser Diagrams
• Battery Calculations
• Device layout
• Wiring layout
• Point-to-Point Wiring Diagrams
• Elevations
• System Details
• Interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical blueprints, diagrams, submittal documents, specifications, and schematics
• Research product information including data sheets, manuals, and technical specifications to verify system design and layout.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Salesman, and Technicians to review design requirements.
• Utilize and review electrical and fire code for proper design layout and standards
• Provide guidance and field training to apprentice technicians.
• Constantly improve technical knowledge to stay abreast of changing technology and codes through research, training seminars, and certifications.
• Occasionally travel to job sites to verify site conditions for design.
• Discuss designs with engineers, contractors, and customers
• Prepare As-Builts for final project documentation

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to details
• Strong computer skills including MS Office applications
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test
