HQ-Northwest CNC Machine Operator in Bellingham, Washington

A Setup Machinist sets up repeat production work on a variety of CNC Machines. Has the ability to follow documented setup instructions and qualify proven programs to certify jobs for production. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Setup 3 & 4 Axis CNC Machines. • Follow proven work instructions to load tools, fixturing and code into CNC Machines. • Qualify proven programs, work with Advanced Setup Machinist or Manufacturing Leads to make tool comps and offset shifts as needed to dial in setups. • Read and understand blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders. • Use a variety of inspection equipment to perform First Article Inspections and in process checks. • Identify and record Non-Conforming Product. • Update work instructions when needed on repeat production runs to document necessary or improved processes. • Deburr, blend, wash, and package conforming product in flow. • Make process improvements suggestions and document it accordingly. • Participate in continuous improvement activities. • Comply, encourage, and support all safety rules and regulations. • Maintain clean work area. • Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • High School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred. • One or more years of experience in a related field may be substituted for education. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: The successful individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are also desirable: • Ability to hit setup targets on 3 & 4 Axis repeat production work. • Understanding of GD&T. • Proficient with MRP / ERP Systems. • Effective communications skills. • Knowledge of various inspection equipment.
