Anvil Corporation Chief Financial Officer in Bellingham, Washington
JOB SUMMARY
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior member of Anvil leadership ensuring the mission, goals and objectives of the organization are met. The CFO directs and oversees the financial activities of the corporation, manages risk, protects the assets of the organization through essential internal controls, directs the preparation of management and financial reports, summaries, and predictive forecasts. Additionally, the CFO addresses legal concerns, ensures compliance with financial regulatory bodies, and oversees the human resources practices of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Directs the preparation and ensures the accuracy of all financial reporting, shareholder reports, tax returns, governmental agency reports and internal management reports.
- Ensures that adequate and essential internal controls and risk management are in place.
- Work with ESOP and 401(k) trustees to ensure on-going legal compliance with ERISA, IRS and other requirements.
- Develop efficient utilization of cash flow and long-term financial models to assess Company's ability to continue to prosper into the future.
- Compares sales, expense and profit projections to actual figures and recommends necessary adjustments to future management reporting projections.
- Partners with Senior Management to establish planning practices, coordinates efforts, establishes priorities, and recommends improvements.
- Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
- Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
- Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas and provides financial strategy recommendations.
- Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.
- Provide return on investment and business analysis of potential acquisitions and other opportunities.
- Oversee development of all business contracts to ensure adequate protections and acceptable terms and conditions are in place.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership to the Business Services department, coaches and mentors Manager of Business Services and Accounting Manager, as needed.
- Partners with other senior leaders and department heads to cultivate desired leadership competencies and desired culture norms.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required, Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant, or equivalent designation preferred.
- Ten to fifteen years of experience in financial management required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to sit/stand, type, perform computer work, and answer incoming calls for long periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering phones.
- Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
