    The Role

The UX Design Associate will work with the Principal User Experience Designer to design and optimize a range of products for Guidant’s internal and external clients. They will work on the entire research and design process from recruiting and participating is user tests to sketching and prototyping attractive, intuitive user interfaces across a range of Guidant software applications.

As a part of our design and research team, you will have a significant impact on the user experience for our 7,500+ clients across the country. You will be responsible to learn what our users expect from our products, and work with the Principal User Experience Designer to develop effective solutions and find new areas for improvement within the product. You’ll collaborate across departments, working with internal teams to identify design goals and requirements, working with best-in-class developers on implementation and working with marketing team members on our website.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work as part of an Agile team to build market-leading, cloud based digital lending solutions for small businesses nationwide.

  • Recruit, coordinate and schedule customers/users for UX research studies, including onsite-based usability studies, field studies, and surveys

  • Provide research study notes and detailed research transcripts

  • Conduct UI design and usability competitor analysis and reports

  • Partner closely with the Principal User Experience Designer to support software engineers in the development of customer-facing web properties and applications using core web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)

  • Create the UX artifacts needed to articulate a design, whether whiteboard sketches, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity visual design mock-ups or interactive prototypes

  • Help create design rationale and specifications including, but not limited to: redlines, acceptance criteria, work flows, and user stories


What You Bring:

  • 1+ years industry experience providing interaction design solutions for web and/or software applications

  • A passion for UX and UI and a drive to stay up-to date on the latest design and usability trends and techniques

  • A strong portfolio which demonstrates work across a range of clients or product-types, creating user centered design solutions, and practical knowledge of design methodologies

  • Solid understanding of UI design techniques and working knowledge of wireframing and prototyping tool

  • Experience monitoring and measuring UI/UX experiences

  • Experience with web technology and standards within B2B and B2C application experiences

  • Experience with mobile apps preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design, HCI, Information Science, or related field preferred
