David Evans and Associates Transportation Intern in Bellevue, Washington

Our Bellevue, WA office is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Transportation Intern position to support our Roads and Highways group while working on transportation related projects. The successful candidate will work on multidiscipline projects performing independent engineering calculations and design, using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings. The work may include developing plans for freeway, highway and local roadways, signing and pavement markings traffic signals, storm water facilities, fish passage barrier culvert removals. This work will also entail performing technical writing, quantity calculations, developing construction documents, and all supporting documentation. Other duties/learning opportunities include: * Coordinate with supervisor, project managers, and project team staff * Support design and preparation of plans in AutoCAD and Microstation software * Analyze maps, reports, drawings and as-builts for design projects * Support preparation of reports and specifications and quantity calculations for projects Basic Qualifications: * Applicants must be in the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, with at least 2+ years of completed course work * Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Microstation and AutoCAD skills are recommended * Applicant must have a valid driver's license and clear motor vehicle report * Ability to communicate and work in a team oriented environment Potential salary range for this position is $20 - $27/hour depending on experience and location Transportation Jobs with DEA DEA's Core Purpose is to improve the quality of life while demonstrating stewardship of the built and natural environments.
