David Evans and Associates Transportation Engineer-in-Training in Bellevue, Washington

DEA is hiring aTransportation Engineer-in-Trainingto work in our Transportation Business Unit as part of our Roads and Highways team in the Puget Sound Region (position can be located in ourTacoma, Olympia, Seattle, or Bellevue, WA office). A successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter assigned to work on multidiscipline projects using specialized technical skills, experience and engineering judgment to transform concept designs into construction drawings and technical specifications. The work may include street improvements, utility plans, freeway, highway and roadway design, construction documents and all necessary supporting documentation.Our ideal candidate would be proficient with horizontal and vertical alignment design, quantity take-offs, and engineer's estimates. Finally, a successful candidate will have good interpersonal and communication skills that can thrive in a hybrid in-office/remote work setting. As an engineer-in-training, the responsibilities will be diverse and will include but not be limited to the following: Works with project teams on all aspects of projects, including project set-up, drafting, design, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc. Prepares and designs improvement plans for a wide range of multi-modal transportation projects Prepares and/or modifies construction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs for projects Analyzes maps, reports, drawings, as-builts and test results for design projects. Assists with post design construction support services to respond to contractor RFI's, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field observations Coordinates work with other disciplines and offices on multi-discipline projects Assists with utility coordination including conflict analysis and coordination with public and private utility companies Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Engineer In Training (EIT) certification 0-5years of professional engineering experience Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Good communication skills (written and oral) Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences Familiar with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation/InRoads software Preferred Qualifications: Drafting and design experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads for the design of alignments and 3D design surfaces Transportation project experience with WSDOT and local public agencies Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life Insurance Health Savings and Lifestyle Spending Account with employer contribution Support for continuing education and training opportunities Paid Time Off (PTO)/Holiday Pay 401k and Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work schedule Holistic Wellbeing Program with a focus on physical, emotional, financial, career and community health Opportunity for growth with support and mentoring to help with professional goals Ability to work in a hybrid in-office/remote work setting Potential salary range is $70,000-$90,000 depending on experience and location Hybrid friendly work schedule Transportation Jobs with DEA: The increasing complexities of modern transportation include growing demands, aging infrastructure, rising costs, funding challenges, and environmental concerns.
