Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Global Infra Svcs lead the delivery of Kuiper's worldwide ground infrastructure. We foster collaboration and communication across diverse teams to build the ground capacity - that's hundreds of sites across dozens of countries, each a 2-5 year endeavor.

We work hand-in-hand with our scope owners to tackle both technical and non-technical roadblocks, meet tight deadlines, and develop streamlined processes and automation to drive efficient progress. Our tight-knit team partners closely with experts across Legal, Regulations, BizOps, Finance, Network engineering, Supply chain, and Government services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify AI and automation tools to adopt or build for Ground Infra.

  • Manage indirect scopes and dependencies as needs arise. Oversee finances for global Ground Infrastructures.

  • Build databases and dashboards as a single source of truth.

  • Capture lessons learned and streamline Ground Infra delivery globally.

  • Communicate progress and challenges with teams and leadership.

  • Up to 25% travel to regions may be required.

A day in the life

  • Strategize with regional teams on gateway delivery.

  • Write 1-2 page summaries on ground infrastructure issues and resolutions.

  • Identify ways to deliver ground infrastructure more efficiently.

  • Analyze cost data to find regional and global savings opportunities.

  • Develop PRFAQs for new tools and systems the ground infrastructure team will adopt.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop tools and products that advance ground infrastructure deployment.

  • Manage scopes outside of site delivery that the ground infrastructure team depends on.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments and share insights with the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
