Required Skills:

Technical Animator - Camouflaj Responsibilities:

  1. Create rigs and skinning for characters, creatures, and props.

  2. Develop content creation pipelines and tools for the animation and character art teams.

  3. Guide animation and character art teams on best authoring practices for optimized in-game assets.

  4. Help integrate assets from Maya to Unity and troubleshoot issues.

  5. Work with the concept team to ensure designs will work with animations.

  6. Collaborate with designers and gameplay engineers to develop animation features.

  7. Mentor and train other technical animators on best practices and give code reviews.

  8. Keep up to date with emerging trends in rigging and animation technology.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Expert proficiency in developing and maintaining Maya rigs & animation workflows for games.

  2. Proficiency in Python, Mel, and developing artists production tools.

  3. Knowledge of model topology and experience to direct character artists with best practices.

  4. 5+ years of experience as a Technical Animator or equivalent.

  5. Experience collaborating across multiple disciplines to achieve team technical objectives.

  6. Knowledge of traditional, mocap and procedural animation workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with the Maya C++ API.

  2. Experience with Unity and C#.

  3. VR development experience.

  4. Expertise in animation blending and animation state machines.

  5. Experience with FACS based rigs/programs.

  6. 3D math skills such as linear algebra and matrix math.

  7. Experience coding in PyMel.

  8. Knowledge of version control software (Perforce preferred).

Public Compensation:

$127,000/year to $178,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
