BYTEDANCE INC. Tech Lead, Machine Learning Engineer, Shop Ads (Multiple Positions) in Bellevue, Washington
Responsibilities
- Build highly scalable Machine Learning (ML) systems and state-of-the-art ML models to improve ad ranking quality and optimize advertisers' marketing strategies including, but not limited to, click through rate prediction, conversion rate prediction, intelligent format selection, and user journey optimization.

``` - Explore multi-stage ranking models, conduct data analysis, and develop feature engineering.

``` - Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientist, Designers, and other disciplines to explore the next generation of shopping experiences on TikTok.

``` - Understand ads platform objectives and take full advantage of modern ML to improve ads relevance, quality, and quantity delivered to end-users.

``` - Lead the innovations of core shopping ad systems by designing, applying, and using ML models, ranking algorithms, etc.

``` - Build and lead the tech design / code / experiment launch review mechanism within tech group.
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
- Utilizing Python, Golang, Java, or C++; and

``` - Utilizing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services.
Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience working on e-commerce system or AD delivery system as a software engineer or machine learning engineer.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:
- Utilizing at least one of the following mainstream deep learning programming framework: TensorFlow, Caffe, or MXNet;

``` - Utilizing deep learning algorithms in large-scale distributed recommendation systems; and

``` - Building and optimizing main components, models, or strategies in e-commerce system or AD delivery system, including bidding, ranking, and auction.
Travel Requirement: Domestic and/or international travel up to 15% required.
