Your New Role…

As a Staff Product Designer, Design Systems, you are a member of the world-class CNN Digital Product Design Team, which is responsible for creating industry-leading new experiences consumed by millions of audiences across the globe. The Vossi Design System team is responsible for building and maintaining CNN’s multi-platform design system. Vossi is young and in hyper-growth mode. This is an incredible opportunity to join at ground level, to envision and implement a world-class, scalable design system. The Staff Product Designer is an experienced designer who enjoys collaborating with product, engineering, research, editorial, analytics, content strategy and other designers to build and grow a reusable library that supports speed and innovation towards a stellar end user experience. In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact the entirety of CNN’s digital experience, and at the same time impact CNN’s bottom line.

Your Role Accountabilities…

• Be an integral part of the team building a world-class design system and help steer the growth and execution of the program

• Create and maintain tokens and components that align with our design principles, our product roadmap, and serve our internal customer teams’ needs

• Help the design system grow as a true internal product

• Research and consider the needs and pain points of our internal users, as well as their touchpoints with the design system

• Collaborate on design system metrics, writing OKRs and defining the roadmap

• Support intake, office hours, governance, and other process development and execution

• Foster a deep collaborative culture and promote partnership with cross-functional teams

• Be an evangelist for the design system

• Collaborate on comms plans

• Define and promote design and accessibility standards

• Optimize feedback channels and workflows between the Vossi team and other verticals

• Stay current on modern design system trends and technology

• Mentor more junior designers on the highest caliber of craft and cross-functional partnership

Qualifications & Experience…

• 8+ years as a product designer, with at least 2 in recent design systems work

• A mastery of Figma 124.4+ including variables, components, styles, and shared libraries

• Experience working within large-scale or enterprise organizations, requiring patience and proactive communication along each step of the design system process

• A demonstrated ability to manage complex design challenges, individually and by partnering with others

• A strong record of fostering cross-functional collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders with excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Mastery and ability to guide on user experience design, including usability principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, and interaction design

• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience

• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $122,500.00 - $227,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
