We are a global organization, with research and development labs based in Hamme, Belgium, Seattle, WA and Milan, Italy. Our development portfolio is focused on automation solutions in software workflows, matrix sortation and storage solutions, and mechanical singulation that provide broad extensibility across Amazon businesses.

As a Senior Trade Strategy Program Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliant trade for the development, manufacturing & delivery of custom Mechatronics solutions that enable automation within Amazon's global fulfillment network. You will work directly with strategic sourcing, transportation operations, legal & tax, and Global Trade Service internal teams to drive a cohesive trade compliance across Mechatronics.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build & execute Mechatronics' trade compliance strategy, drive and enforce global Trade Compliance processes, seek automation and technology opportunities to leverage.

  • Participate in leadership, business, supply chain and engineering planning, goal-setting, technology, product roadmap, and other discussions to “peek around corners” and identify potential compliance risks and offer program level guidance.

  • Support import/export operations between UK, US and EU, including cooperation with the brokers, oversight of Amazon’s ops team and alignment on priorities with internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with GTS (Engine) and Business Reporting Trade Compliance PMs on high impact or high-risk issues. Distill and communicate the impact of these issues to business leadership.

  • Provide support for regional projects and expansions.

  • Scope and execute special trade and duty optimization programs.

  • Drive scalable business solutions to ensure compliance with import regulations in the region.

  • Educate internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance on our projects and processes.

  • Collaborate with Legal and Tax departments on efforts as necessary. Interface with global customs authorities and export control regulators as required.

  • Collaborate with Amazon’s technology teams to develop world class Trade Compliance solutions for Mechatronics.

  • Leverage data to continuously improve compliance at Amazon.

Up to 20% international and domestic travel.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

  • Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
