Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Device Technologies in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Device Technologies is looking for a Sr Technical Program Manager who has high standards in the areas of high availability infrastructure, technical writing, and program management methodologies. Supporting 14 teams, this role will focus building on cross-team and cross-org technical programs which self-sustain using automation, and improve availability. Device Technologies manages more than 1.5M compute devices enabling the Amazon Fulfillment and Transpiration network. These devices are mostly Android and Linux based. Over 63 in-house built products are used to manage and enable these devices and they are of critical business importance to ensure packages can be shipped to Amazon customers on-time, and the Amazon Associates are able to safely perform their roles.

You will drive the roadmap to build for the long term, but build incrementally to provide progressive gains. Your leadership and guidance will ensure high standards.

You should be excited about learning every day and delighting customers by solving problems that impact order fulfillment. You are passionate about software quality, repeatability, testability and maintainability. When you need clarity, you go to the product customers, perhaps a user, and talk to them until you get it right. You understand the challenges associated with operating a large-scale system in production, and are reflected in your designs and implementations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Meet with stakeholders regularly to ensure your solutions are meeting the needs of the business.

  • Participate in strategic planning, brainstorm improvements, and work to uphold the quality bar across the organization.

  • Work closely with the Network Development and Information Security teams.

About the team

This is an international software development team based in the US and Germany that designs systems that set the global standard for performance, availability, security, and cost, enabling Fulfillment and Transportation operations to deliver customer orders on time, every time.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Bellevue, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
