Amazon Sr. Risk Specialist, Global Service Compliance in Bellevue, Washington

Description

We are seeking a stellar Sr. Risk Specialist to join the Global Service Compliance (GSC) team supporting Amazon’s Project Kuiper. Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

Working closely with the business, legal, tax, accounting, and other teams, you will develop out-of-this-world strategies for handling compliance obligations in creative, business-centric ways that allow Kuiper to move quickly. As a Senior Risk Specialist for Kuiper GSC, you will support research, writing, and review of policy and procedure documentation demonstrating Kuiper’s compliance with its global ISP obligations.

We are looking for someone who takes a proactive role in deep-diving into documents and demonstrates strong analytical thinking who can work across teams to identify gaps in policies, processes, and tools and develop strategies to eliminate gaps and mitigate risk. You will be capable of transforming complex statutory language into clear easy to understand language for a diverse audience of stakeholders. You are right a lot, work efficiently both independently and with teammates, and routinely deliver results on time.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience handling confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience

  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

  • Experience with SQL and Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
