WWRR&S includes the full complement of business, product, program, operational, data, and software engineering teams, who work together to identify and remove defects that cause returns, reinvent the return experience, and manage the lifecycle of returned, overstock, and damaged products, with the objective of throwing nothing away.

The successful candidate for the Program Manager, PMO is a strong general athlete with product, program or general management experience. You thrive in ambiguity and have a willingness to roll up your sleeves to do whatever is necessary in a start-up environment. You are able to energize others with your vision, you have strong communication skills, are a great partner, and are able to influence at all levels of the organization. This role involves a wide range of problem-solving and will require the ability to identify opportunities with limited oversight, form strong recommendations supported by robust analysis, and build consensus and a plan of action around a common solution.

Key job responsibilities

In this role with the WW Returns PMO and Center of Excellence, you will focus on ensuring every Amazon launch that requires a Returns solution, delivers as close to program delivery excellence as possible. You will contribute to and drive programs that will increase the working metabolism of teams across Amazon by equipping them with tools and automation to help deliver projects to the same consistent standard, faster, and on an exponential scale. You will coordinate cross functionally and across Amazon Org to guide project owners to bring technical solutions from ideation to fruition.

Example areas of ownership:

  • OP Planning (own VP level calendar and process flow across teams)

  • PMO KPI SME (including development of new metrics, monthly updates and performance deep dives)

  • Portfolio Owner for returns and recommerve projects from Amazon Devices and Established Stores

A day in the life

Our work is broad and deep. You will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams across Amazon to develop scalable solutions for complex problems on 50+ unique projects at a time. You must be equally comfortable partnering with a business team, a TPM, SDE, and a SDM, and able to quickly adapt to ambiguous opportunities where you may need to operate as a program manager one day, a product owner the next, and then as project leader to push a project to the finish line. You will build, run, and iterate on mechanisms with an eye for continuous improvement)

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
