Amazon Sr. Program Manager - Employee Engagement and Commute, Worldwide Operations Sustainability in Bellevue, Washington

Amazon's Worldwide Operations Sustainability team (WWOS) seeks an experienced Senior Program Manager (Sr PM) to spearhead employee sustainability engagement initiatives and develop a strategy for reducing the carbon footprint of employee commutes. We are seeking a passionate leader who is excited about sustainability and eager to harness the power of Amazon operations employees to support on our path to achieving net-zero emissions worldwide and meet The Climate Pledge by 2040. In this role, you will be working with cross-functional stakeholders across Amazon (including Operations, PR, Communications, HR, Policy, etc.) to develop a comprehensive sustainability engagement communications plan and strategy for a net-zero carbon employee commute by 2040.
Earning trust with operations stakeholders and influencing without authority is essential to success for this position. In addition to analytical strengths, the role requires strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills.
Key job responsibilities
Prepare regular reports on program progress, challenges, and successes for directors and VPs
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to commute decarbonization and employee engagement.
Explore and implement technological solutions to support sustainable commuting and engagement (e.g., commute tracking apps, gamification platforms)
Research and stay updated on best practices in sustainable transportation and employee engagement strategies.
Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to reduce carbon emissions from employee commutes.
Design and launch innovative programs to encourage sustainable transportation options (e.g., public transit, carpooling, cycling, electric vehicles).
Engage in public-private partnerships and industry coalitions to unlock innovative solutions for low carbon employee commutes.
Partner with HR and other departments to integrate sustainability goals into company policies and benefits packages
Create and manage employee engagement campaigns to raise awareness about sustainability initiatives and encourage participation
Develop internal communications and marketing materials to promote sustainability programs

About the team
Worldwide Operations Sustainability (WWOS) sets the vision and strategy for sustainability within Amazon ops, including the overarching strategy and interim targets to achieve the Climate Pledge by 2040, and topics that extend beyond decarbonization.
WWOS centrally coordinates strategy across Operations in all regions, particularly on topics that transcend business unit boundaries. The mission of WWOS is to accelerate outcomes for key decisions, identify the right stakeholders to make decisions, and provide central guidance for resource allocation to drive our path for the Climate Pledge.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences experience
Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of Business strategy or Non-Tech Program Management experience
Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
5+ years of developing program strategies and plans, diving execution, and influencing senior stakeholders experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
