The Defect Prevention & Reconciliation (DP&R) organization develops technology that identifies, reconciles, and prevents defects across Amazon’s fulfillment supply chain. DP&R’s scope includes all marketplaces worldwide with products that directly impact both Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA) selling partners and Retail vendors. The DP&R Change Management Team is focused on the change execution strategy to support our worldwide Operations, Program, and Product Teams. The Change Management Team ensures their stakeholders and customers are ready for any change we make at Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

This role specifically will be the strategic leader for global Capacity Planning within Support Operations. This role will own Support Ops capacity planning and labor planning tools. The Capacity Planning PM will also work across teams to develop roadmaps for new strategies in the space. The Capacity Planning PM solves complex problems independently in ambiguous situations, making tradeoff decisions when necessary with the intent to simultaneously optimize labor, and provide a positive experience for our Seller Partners. Key stakeholders for this role include product management, finance, operations and multiple analytics and tech teams. Will be responsible to liaise with finance teams in the reconciliation of the budget plans against the actual expenses incurred through the contacts

A day in the life

• Retrieve, build, and analyzing data related to capacity planning

• Develop strong partnerships and mechanism with upstream and downstream planning functions to measure, control and respond to planning variation.

• Provide standard work process execution and functionality support to planning and execution teams.

• Make strategic decisions based on cost vs ROI

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience launching or improving processes for Capacity or Labor Planning related team

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
