T-Mobile Sr Product Manager in Bellevue, Washington

Device Portfolio & Sourcing is accountable for the execution of connected portfolio commercial and technical strategies with decision responsibility for awarded products and negotiation of COGS.

The Device Portfolio Sourcing team leads all sourcing decisions for the device portfolio supporting all LOBs to fuel enterprise growth for T-Mobile.

The Sr Product Sourcing Manager is a visionary, strategist, analyst, customer evangelist, respected leader of execution, and professional relationship builder. The Sr Product Sourcing Manager has direct accountability for making optimal portfolio decisions to drive subscriber growth, improve device costs, accelerate technology innovations, improve the impact on supply chain operations, and capitalize on device purchase insights to help T-Mobile achieve financial and growth targets and delivery on T-Mobile for Business specific strategies.

The Sr Product Sourcing Manager must support as well as lead sourcing events, including ongoing supplier sourcing for the core portfolio with an emphasis on supporting TFB strategies. Bring sourcing efficiency to all activity; define TFB specific roadmaps containing prioritization of sourcing categories; meet with potential participants, both incumbents and non-incumbents, answer RFP related questions from suppliers, analyze RFP results and support final supplier awards.

Building relationships and delivering results the right way is crucial. We set high standards in delivering complex products through multi-brand processes. Issues surface frequently across sourcing and competing business priorities, so creative problem solving is critical which is done well through strong business partnerships and a thorough understanding of the business. Candidate must also possess polished presentation skills designed for senior leadership to discuss launch strategies, performance issues and recommendations.

What you’ll do in your role.

  • Execute a transparent, competitive and fair device selection process (Both via quarterly RFPs and ad hoc evaluations as needed to support TFB strategies)

  • Author and issue RFPs with clear and concise product briefs and detailed timeline expectations – primary focus on T-Mobile for business products with support of core portfolio needs for products that overlap (sample product types could include handsets, tablets, hotspots, routers, laptops)

  • Partner with Device Strategy and TFB LOB leads for strategic portfolio planning and tie decisions back to strategy to support TFB LOB financial goals / business casing

  • Guide and influence internal stakeholders to gain alignment on new TFB device selections

  • Schedule vendor workshops and presentations to discuss strategy, roadmaps and product proposals

  • Develop portfolio recommendations and clearly and concisely document in all signoff materials

  • Conduct extensive internal stakeholder reviews for roadmap recommendations

  • Create device scorecards when applicable for objective and transparent product comparison and trade off discussions

  • Lead alignment with the Core Portfolio and sourcing team on range recommendations

  • Maintain database of all device proposals for use in analysis, comparisons and documentation

  • Manage inventory of all device mockups for industrial design comparison

  • Facilitate executive signoff meetings to gain alignment on portfolio decisions

  • Manage operational handoff documentation and meetings to ensure a smooth transition to Go to Market activities

  • Document all aspects of sourcing process on SharePoint and maintain strict permissions for all confidential materials

  • Represent TFB device roadmap with cross-functional teams and maintain feedback loop

  • Consistently and accurately update portfolio roadmap documentation

  • Steer the device portfolio to achieve maximum network synergies while improving customer experience

  • Explore and synthesize insights from technology, industry, and competitive research to support TFB portfolio decisions

  • Drive portfolio diversity and risk mitigation tactics to reduce T-Mobile risk exposure

  • Create and deliver executive level presentations with thoroughly vetted core portfolio device recommendations to senior management and partner organizations

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with T-Mobile policies and procedures

The experience you’ll bring.

  • 8-10 years of business development, partner management or product management in consumer wireless or consumer electronics industries

  • 5+ years project/program management experience (focus on business channels preferred)

  • 5+ years wireless carrier sourcing management, supply chain experience and skills

  • Solid understanding of the mobile ecosystem, trends and insights with strong strategic & analytical skills

  • Keen and broad business acumen – understanding a wide range of business models within the wireless industry and specifically in support of business channels (e.g. enterprise, government, education, small business)

  • Proven ability to communicate with leadership effectively and efficiently, while employing a high degree of collaboration

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present recommendations in verbal and written form and ability to influence senior leaders, peers, and other organization members.

  • Deep expertise in creating executive level presentations in MS PowerPoint and strong Excel skills

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify/analyze/synthesize and balance various strategic priorities to drive decisions

  • Well organized with the ability to adapt quickly and smoothly handle challenging conversations under stressful timelines

  • Preferred understanding and experience in business behavior and research

  • Flexible, self-starter, and comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment

  • Desire for a high level of responsibility and ownership and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment

Education

Minimum Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience required

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work. The CDC defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
