Amazon Sr Mgr, DSP Capacity Planning in Bellevue, Washington

Description

There are over 2500 Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) that delight customers everyday as the chief delivery option in the North America Last Mile space. Latin America is quickly growing its DSP presence as they similarly make DSPs an indispensable part of the Last Mile ecosystem. This role would own the strategy for how we scale our learnings from North America and build out net new capacity planning strategy for Latin America. Currently much of the decision making in those geographies is manual and done by local stakeholders; this role would build a vision to make those decisions more standardized, centralized, and data-driven than they have been historically. Learning from what has worked in North America but also creating net new mechanisms, this person would also build and sequence the levers that should be utilized in Latin America to help solve for customer demand throughout the year.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with teams across programs and geographies to design a roadmap to standardize decision making in all of the short, medium, and long term

  • Create mechanisms and guardrails to help DSPs best adapt to demand fluctuation in the short, medium, and long term

  • Design DSP performance measurement structures and build rewards and accountability mechanisms that stem from them

  • Build partnerships with upstream planning functions to proactively adapt to planning variations.

  • Work cross-functionally with field operations and functional leaders to drive influence in capacity planning and management.

About the team

Team members need to both know their data and know their partner teams. Everyone on this team needs to partner with upstream partners to understand what drives volume variability. But after that they need to earn trust with downstream partner teams to build alignment on our strategies to fulfill needed volume. The team is always encouraged to not just find band-aids to one off problems, but think about how to build new mechanisms to solve the global underlying issue.

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalent

  • MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $142,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $265,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
