ID213580 Job TypeFull-time Tesla participates in the E-Verify Program What to ExpectWe are looking for a highly skilled design manager (Mechanical or Electrical focus, but has the ability to understand/support other disciplines) who is passionate about our mission to join our energy infrastructure engineering team with focus on R&D project improvements. In this role, you will be asked to own and drive the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to build. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction and project management. The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. This role requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. You will drive collaboration between Engineering disciplines, Construction, R&D, operations to ensure our team's goals are aligned with company priorities. What You'll Do Organize and manage design reviews, construction design packages and deliverables to support all aspects of construction: including scope of work, kick-off, MDR, 30%, 60%, 90%, IFP, IFC Define strategies for design and engineering deliverables including construction and permit packages Own the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to delivery to meet our aggressive goals Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI's Own project funding request process in collaboration with construction team Coordinate project schedule with construction team based on Procurement and Construction requirements for the overall schedule success of the project Manage all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, programming, design, and engineering services during construction Understand different project delivery methods including design bid build, integrated project development, and fast track projects Understand lean construction principles and fully integrated design using BIM Infrastructure development is a problem of complexity, objective thinking, and social interactions. Prove an ability to solve subjective problems with objective fundamentals What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Architectural, civil, mechanical, structural, electrical Engineering, or equivalent 5+ years of professional experience required managing multi-disciplinary within A/E firms Experience with managing complex MEP projects and fully understanding all engineering disciplines and be able to demonstrate skills to manage engineering resources Proven record in delivery of IFB, IFP and IFC packages on R&D facilities, workplace and site infrastructure development Experience working with AHJ's and be able to build strong relationship with local jurisdictions Advanced project management skills demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems Subcontractor and third-party consulting firm management experience Ability to effectively execute many projects and tasks in parallel Communicate with technical and non-technical team members effectively while being Positive, enthusiastic, fast learner, can-do mindset and passionate about building complex infrastructure Construction Project Management experience is a plus.
