Job Overview The primary mission of the Cyber Root Cause Remediation Team is to safeguard digital assets, maintain operational integrity, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in cybersecurity practices. The approach to this role includes performing in-depth root cause analysis to uncover underlying issues and prevent future occurrences, utilizing advanced forensic techniques and methodologies to conduct detailed investigations, and working closely with various departments to ensure comprehensive and effective remediation efforts. Additionally, the role promotes ongoing improvement of cybersecurity practices through continuous improvement initiatives. Main Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive analysis of security alerts and threats from various sources to identify potential risks and assess their impact on operations Knowledge of root cause analysis and the ability to implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences Experience in managing and prioritizing remediation tasks based on the level of risk Collaborates and participates on identification of security needs & recommends plans/resolutions. Maintains visibility inside & outside of info security at an Engineering professional level. Interfaces with groups such as application support, engineering ops, finance, privacy, risk management, etc. Helps execute security projects driven by groups both internal and external to info security. Familiarity with and implementation of MITRE attack framework and CVSS scoring, Familiarity with vulnerability tools, scripting languages and researching exploits, Understands how exploits work / how to modify them and explain what made the exploit successful or not. Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work experience. Experience: 4-6 years' experience in info security technology or related field. Medium to advanced knowledge of scripting tools (Python/Perl/Shell/HTML/PHP) and security testing tools (Burp Suite, Nessus, etc). Solid understanding of multiple security subject areas Some knowledge of critical security elements, threats, vulnerabilities, and safeguards Knowledge of information security policies and regulatory controls (per team function) Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate internally, upward, and cross functionally; ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members to gain support required to accomplish assignments; able to build coalitions. Always act with tact and integrity, and collaborate with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner. Self motivated with strong problem solving / troubleshooting skills. Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize tasks to complete independently; Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet tight timelines. Knowledge of current technological trends and developments in info security. 4-6 years' experience working in a large enterprise. 4-6 years' experience in a dedicated security engineering role. Presentation skills to large and small audiences.
