Description

Amazon Luna is seeking a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) who is passionate about data, engineering, and analytics and wants to solve real-world problems that impact the lives of customers. Amazon Luna capitalizes on Amazon’s scale and speed to build a robust cloud gaming technology that provides customers flexibility to play games anywhere on devices of their choice.

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who will assist us in developing analytical solutions for measuring and reporting on Amazon Luna impact areas. You will directly influence and support the architecture of and mechanisms through which the team engages stakeholders. You will clearly define success metrics and the solutions that are developed in order to constantly evaluate performance against those criteria both internally through operational business reviews and externally through consistent and intuitive data consumption interfaces.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and delivering analytical solutions in a highly ambiguous environment, with a demonstrated ability to build significant trust with senior leaders in order to establish and maintain a data driven organizational culture. They should be comfortable with developing intuitive and engaging documents for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Key job responsibilities

  • Architect and develop scalable and resilient data solutions for real-time and batch processing, enabling self-service business intelligence for analytics users.

  • Build ETL pipelines, statistical models, and machine learning solutions using large, multidimensional datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand strategies, goals, and objectives, and align the analytics roadmap accordingly.

  • Design and implement end-to-end reporting solutions, metrics, dashboards, and automated processes to drive key business decisions and track progress.

  • Perform complex analyses to inform product strategy, design, and business priorities, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Continuously improve reporting and processes, automating and scaling solutions while ensuring stability and performance.

  • Identify opportunities for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to enhance targeting, measurement, and overall product capabilities.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, contributing to the team's evolution through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional or military experience

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience with AWS technologies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
