Amazon's Merchant Technologies group does just that - building the software platform and applications necessary for sellers to manage their business on Amazon. This Software Development position is for Seller Fulfillment Performance team where innovation and latest technologies merge to build brand new features and capabilities for sellers.

The Team:

Seller Fulfillment Performance team builds real-time performance management product, one stop shop for fulfillment programs across Amazon such as Seller Fulfilled Prime and larger 3P Seller business. The product supports self-service on boarding of new programs and new metrics, and expansion to new markets. Product monitors fulfillment activity, predicts performance and proactively alerts and takes action on seller performance related issues and prevents seller abuse.

The Role:

The team is seeking an experienced software development engineer who will own backend data pipelines, system workflows, user interfaces and service & layer application support. These systems are to be used by hundreds of internal and tens of thousands of sellers worldwide. To be successful in this role, you will need to have a passion for full stack development with focus on backend, data and service architecture and engineering.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design, Develop and maintain large scale distributed systems.

  • Work with team members to devise design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.

  • Provide guidance to and mentor other SDEs in the team.

  • Be responsible for high quality bar, ensuring quality design reviews and robust engineering practices for automated testing and code coverage.

  • Collaborate with business and product partners to build applications.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
