Amazon Software Development Engineer II, Customer Instock Value (CIV) in Bellevue, Washington

Description

The Selection team in SCOT (Supply Chain Optimization Technology) is looking for a passionate and talented Software Development Engineer (SDE) to help build industry-leading causal inference and machine learning solutions. Our mission is to analyze and understand customer behaviors to optimize for Amazon’s long-term profitability.

As an SDE on our team, you will collaborate with Senior Engineers and Scientists to research, develop, and deploy ML models and services at large scale. Your work will directly impact important decisions in Amazon’s Supply Chain such as which item should be kept in-stock, which item should be offered at faster delivery speed. You will leverage Amazon’s rich data sources and large-scale computing resources build systems that process tera-bytes of data to make decision on every item in the Amazon webstore worldwide.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • Knowledge of data structures and complex algorithms with equivalent development skills to match

  • Experience with object-oriented languages, coupled with design and service oriented architecture

  • Demonstrated experience in SQL and data modeling skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

  • Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve ambiguous requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Experience working with scientists to implement ML models

  • Experience in handling large data sets and big data framework such as Spark, Hadoop, Hive

  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
