The Senior Supply Chain Manager is a core member of the Amazon Business Operations team responsible for Network design, Forecasting, and Performance Planning for the worldwide Amazon Business fulfillment network. They will leverage network design and optimization tooling to think long-term and design the most customer experience friendly and cost-efficient pallet fulfillment network for B2B customers. They will use exceptional deep dive, data modelling, and automation skills to continually add features to forecasting, expand to additional geographies, eliminate errors, automate, and repeat. They will develop advanced excel or scripting language based models to predict annual glide path for the network’s core performance parameters, such as, delivery speed, units per box, and ship distance. This role is a highly analytical role where the data modelling experience in Supply Chain is a pre-requisite. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement in Worldwide long term forecasting, including adding features, improving accuracy and automation in the process

  • Drive continuous improvement in Worldwide short-term forecasting, including embedding forecast into Amazon’s core fulfillment network forecasting processes, improving precision and automation

  • Optimize delivery speed and cost worldwide by leveraging Science based network topology modelling tools to select sites for launching new operations and designing optimal network connectivity

  • Drive innovation in Amazon’s tooling for network design optimization to incorporate Amazon Business’ B2B-specific use-cases and requirements

  • Own carrier mix, delivery speed, units per box, and ship distance strategy, modelling, and deep dives to drive continuous optimization in Amazon Business’ delivery speed and cost

  • Use strong analytical and quantitative skills; Ability to use SQL (Amazon Redshift, Microsoft SQL, and Postgres), scripting languages (e.g. Python), and reporting platforms (Tableau, QuickSight, and SSRS) to produce clear data that allows cross-functional stakeholders to make exceptional business decisions that improve customer experience.

About the team

This role is part of the Worldwide Operations Strategy and Planning team in Amazon Business Operations. The team is responsible for embedding B2B ecommerce capability in Amazon's vast fulfillment infrastructure worldwide.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Experience in developing predictive modeling in any field, applicable to modeling and predicting key performance indicators in the supply chain and logistics domain

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
