Position Summary...

What you'll do...

About Team:

Walmart Plus member care and account management team is critical stakeholder in membership platform growth and retention. Team's goal is to provide seamless interaction for W+ members to manage their membership along with numerous benefits that are part of membership. To ensure minimal friction and address any issues around membership renewals, utilization and engagement. Team leverages various tech stacks to facilitate membership journey from customer facing front end to offline processing of memberships.

What you'll do:

  • Design, build and maintain REST API services using technologies such as Java, Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat and data stores to enable user interaction with large volume datasets.

  • Build highly scalable, low latency, fault-tolerant, and high-performance architecture solutions for customer facing web and mobile applications.

  • Participate in software development life cycle (SDLC) phases including sprint planning, estimating, design, development, testing, and deployment within an Agile development environment.

  • Build customer facing software application features and platform libraries.

  • Engage in End-to-End Migration of back-end services and database platform from Oracle DB to Azure Cosmos DB.

  • Leverage Reactive and Adaptive programming to handle change feeds from Azure Cosmos DB by creating robust reactive listeners and stored procedures.

  • Build data communication between back-end systems using Kafka.

  • Develop Unit and Automation Testing Frameworks, Test Suites, and Stubs/Mocks using Selenium, Mockito, JUnit, TestNG, Mocha, and Chai to thoroughly test the software applications for all possible positive and negative use case scenarios and achieve 100% code coverage.

  • Troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes. Enhancing design to prevent re-occurrence of defects. Use JIRA for Defect Reporting and Tracking.

  • Run SonarQube on applications to measure continuous code quality by reporting code smells and vulnerabilities.

  • Use Git Version Control System for coordinating work with the team. Integrate applications with Jenkins to set up Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Environments (CI/CD).

  • Work on Splunk dashboard/queries to monitor application and system health and debug production issues.

  • Use JMeter to load test software functional behavior and measure performance.

  • Provide required Demos to Business stakeholders on software features and take required feedback for improvements.

Provide inputs to relevant stakeholders for creation of project plans and ensure adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines.

Testing:

  • Test case preparation; Test Objectives; Test Strategy; Test types; Test tools (E.g. - Automation - Selenium, Agile - Jira, Mobile - Eggplant etc.); Test Environment; Root cause analysis; Code Coverage; Test Coverage.

  • To map the customer requirements in to test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the component/module. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component. Execute distinct types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs.

Program Monitoring:

  • Program metrics; Program Reporting, logging tools and processes; Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD)

  • To ensure adherence to the project against approved milestones and timelines.

Defect Management and Troubleshooting:

  • Defect life-cycle process, defect tracking tools and methodologies; Defect reporting; Regression testing; Root cause analysis; Root cause corrective action.

  • To track and analyze defects for the component/ module and carry out regression testing to fix defects in all instances of code changes. Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.

DevOps Orientation:

  • Different operating systems; Software maintenance tools and techniques; Application monitoring tools and techniques; Debugging tools; Mock screen; Pseudocodes; Reverse Engineering; Traceability matrix; System performance, security, integration; Data migration and accessibility; Design Methodologies; Telemetry.

  • To conduct complex maintenance procedures for applications independently. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the application by tracking and analyzing appropriate metrics; Perform maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering activities. Analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, performance data and provide analysis; Evaluate change requests to identify those which are valid and feasible.

  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

What you'll bring:

  • Good hands on experience with proven track record of designing, building and maintaining REST API services using technologies such as Java, Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat and data stores to enable user interaction with large volume datasets.

  • Extensive experience developing highly scalable, low latency, fault-tolerant, and high-performance architecture solutions for customer facing web and mobile applications using including and not limited to Kafka, CI/CD, SonarQube, Splunk, JMeter.

  • Build data communication between back-end systems using Kafka.

  • Develop Unit and Automation Testing Frameworks, Test Suites, and Stubs/Mocks using Selenium, Mockito, JUnit, TestNG, Mocha, and Chai to thoroughly test the software applications for all possible positive and negative use case scenarios and achieve 100% code coverage.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
