Description

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager to lead the equipment planning programs team and drive excellence in middle mile transportation operations. In this role, you will spearhead cross-functional improvement initiatives across our line haul network, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. With a focus on supporting over 500 sites by the end of 2024, your strategic planning, forecasting, and program management expertise will be critical in achieving our future growth objectives. As the Senior Manager, you will have the opportunity to own a portfolio of cross-functional programs, collaborating with leaders across ATS to solve complex transportation challenges and enhance customer experience while driving cost savings.

Key job responsibilities

As a Sr. Manager, Supply Chain, you will responsible for leading a team that implements robust planning strategies, overseeing equipment pilots and programs, driving performance goals, and also directly impacting our bottom line. You will also:

• Define and track metrics of asset planning, utilization and impact to the bottom-line

• Work independently in a high-pressure environment with all levels of leadership, and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist

• Regularly interact with executive leadership and work with cross functional teams to program roadmap and execution.

• Communicate persuasively and with a strong bias to get things done and deliver results

• Define new initiatives that will make the most business impact and drive them to completion

• Lead cross-functional transportation initiatives, organizing, and executing complex projects across multiple organizations

• Partner with leaders across ATS to drive continuous improvement and lean philosophy at scale

• Lead a team of Program Managers and business analysts

• Develop, implement, and govern Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones and performance across all projects

• Establish and continually improve the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of the organization’s project delivery capability by providing leadership with best practices

• Completion of root cause analysis on all defects and using these data to drive continuous improvement activities

• Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers

• Create and scale new delivery experiences across all transporter personas impacting all Amazon customers across the world

• You will establish commitments from dependencies, anticipate risks, prevent bottlenecks, ensure high quality deliveries, and increase the productivity and velocity of the team

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • 7+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects

  • 7+ years of experience in program or project management

  • 7+ years of experience managing teams

  • 7+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Lean/Six Sigma Experience

  • Background in optimization techniques

  • 5+ years' experience using Excel to conduct statistical analysis of data sets

  • 10+ years' experience in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, or Warehousing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, building relationships

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Science, or a similar discipline

  • Experience influencing others, and facilitating agreements among stakeholders with different interests

  • Technical aptitude and familiarity with the design and utilization of complex systems

  • Experience with data extraction, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work with large, complex data sets and familiarity with statistics or other analytical techniques

  • Excellent Excel and Tableau skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $233,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
